Orlando auto accident attorneys

After a serious auto accident, the most important thing you can do is hire a team of professionals you trust to handle your legal matter.

At the Badgley Law Group, our attorneys understand the challenges that can happen after a vehicle accident occurs. We have seen many different types of injuries and damages from a crash and understand the struggle victims face when trying to recover financial compensation for the losses they have suffered. Our attorneys, serving Orlando and throughout Central Florida, are here to help you obtain maximum compensation after an auto accident.

What To Do After An Accident

We go into more detail about the seven things you should do after an auto accident, but the initial steps are:

  • Seek medical attention even if you don’t think you have been seriously hurt. A medical professional can assess the situation and possibly uncover injuries that are not showing any immediate symptoms.
  • Contact your insurance carrier regardless of whether you intend to seek compensation from the other driver’s insurer. Most insurance policies require drivers involved in an accident to report to the insurer immediately while providing as much detail as they can. This is part of the “no-fault” provision of the Florida no-fault law.
  • Contact a lawyer as soon as possible. It is important to get an attorney involved early, to protect your interests and secure your compensation.

Our lawyers can walk you through the rest of the steps involved. We will make sure you understand the options before you and are given the information you need to make smart decisions in your case.

Florida’s No-Fault Law

Under the Florida no-fault law, every driver who operates a motor vehicle registered in the state of Florida must have a minimum of $10,000 in personal injury protection (PIP) coverage. A driver’s PIP coverage is meant to cover medical bills and lost wages the driver may suffer in an accident, no matter who caused the accident. This PIP will cover the first $10,000 of a person’s medical coverage, minus the deductible, and will come from the operator’s insurance, no matter who was at fault. Please note that while PIP is mandatory in Florida, it covers only medical bills and lost wages, not any damage that results from an accident whether that is damage to property or the car itself.

Helping You Obtain Compensation

We serve clients injured in accidents involving cars, as well as big rig accidents and other motor vehicle claims like serious injury claims involving motorcycles and accidents involving pedestrians.

Our attorneys will help you obtain compensation for:

  • Medical bills
  • Lost wages
  • Loss of the ability to work in the future
  • Property loss
  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional distress
  • Loss of an extremity
  • Loss of consortium; that is if the accident caused a strain on a relationship

If the other driver was careless when causing the accident, you may also receive punitive damages. These are meant to punish the defendant and are imposed by the court.
